Meet Mrs. Santos!
Hello Mighty Mastodons!
My name is Melissa Santos and I am the assistant principal here at Zizumbo! This is my 16th year with the school and I could not be prouder! At Zizumbo, I have taught first grade, diverse learning for grades Kindergarten to 3, and kindergarten. I have also been an instructional coach at the school. I graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I also completed my Master’s degree in Early Childhood Special Education at UIC. In addition, I completed my English as a Second Language Endorsement through NEIU and received my Principal endorsement through CAU. I am so excited to continue as assistant principal of Zizumbo and support our incredible educators, students, and families! In my spare time, I enjoy watching movies, going on walks with my family, and watching all of Chicago's sports teams! Thank you for choosing our school! Me llamo Melissa Santos y soy la subdirectora de Zizumbo. ¡Este es mi decimosexto año en la escuela y no podría estar más orgullosa! En Zizumbo, he impartido clases de primer grado, aprendizaje diverso para kínder a tercer grado y kínder. También he sido instructora educativa. Me gradué de la Universidad de Illinois en Chicago con una licenciatura en Educación Primaria. También completé mi maestría en Educación Especial Infantil en la UIC. Además, obtuve mi certificación en Inglés como Segundo Idioma (NEIU) y mi certificación como directora (CAU). ¡Estoy muy emocionada de continuar como subdirectora de Zizumbo y apoyar a nuestros increíbles educadores, estudiantes y familias! En mi tiempo libre, disfruto viendo películas, paseando con mi familia y viendo todos los equipos deportivos de Chicago. ¡Gracias por elegir nuestra escuela! ¡Que tengamos un año increíble juntos! #wearemighty
