Meet Mrs. Santos!
Hi Mighty Mastodons!
My name is Melissa Santos and I am the assistant principal here at Zizumbo! This is my 14th year with the school and I could not be prouder! I have taught first grade, diverse learning for grades Kindergarten to 3, and kindergarten over the course of my years here. I graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I also completed my Master’s degree in Early Childhood Special Education at UIC. In addition, I completed my English as a Second Language Endorsement through NEIU. I am so excited to begin this new chapter in my educational career as assistant principal and support our incredible teachers and students! In my spare time, I enjoy watching movies, going on walks with my family, and watching all of Chicago's sports teams! Thank you for choosing our school! ¡Mi nombre es Melissa Santos y soy la subdirectora aquí en Zizumbo! ¡Este es mi decimocuarto año en la escuela y no podría estar más orgulloso! He enseñado en primer grado, aprendizaje diverso desde jardín de infantes hasta tercer grado y kinder a lo largo de mis años aquí. Me gradué de la Universidad de Illinois en Chicago con una licenciatura en Educación Primaria. También completé mi Maestría en Educación Especial Infantil Temprana en la UIC. Además, completé mi especialización en inglés como segundo idioma a través de NEIU. ¡Estoy muy emocionada de comenzar este nuevo capítulo en mi carrera educativa como subdirectora y apoyar a nuestros increíbles maestros y estudiantes! En mi tiempo libre, disfruto ver películas, salir a caminar con mi familia y ver todos los equipos deportivos de Chicago. ¡Gracias por elegir nuestra escuela! ¡Tengamos un año increíble juntos!
